I’ve seen many a woman rave about hiking skirts. I admit, I at first scoffed at the idea, but for snowshoeing, or even being out in the city during a snowstorm, I learned they are a great way of braving the elements!

I am incredibly fortunate to have my in-laws live in an amazing location: Winthrop, Washington. There’s year-round outdoor activities here, including some great snowshoeing!

With the right gear, determination, and knowledge, almost any hike can be done year-round. But snow can be dangerous and tough, so I like to always have some ideas for snow-free trails year-round.
